Introduction:

The foundations of WILO - one of the largest pump and pump systems manufacturers of the world - date back to the bronze and copper processing workshop of Louis Opländer in 1872. At present, WILO's complementary equipment for installations are used in many fields across the world for people's requirements in a wide range that stretches from structures to industrial processes, agriculture to general use clean and sewage water transfer, and infrastructural investments to treatment facilities.

Acting with more than 7,000 employees in 71 countries all over the world, WILO started its activities in Turkey in 1992. With an environmental investment decision taken in 2009, WILO introduced the highest technology facility of the industry to Turkey, and it is operating in the first green building with a LEED Gold certificate in Europe in this industry. WILO Turkey constitutes of a big family of approximately 1,000 people including authorized resellers, authorized services, and regional distributors.

Having realized different projects to create awareness regarding the importance of water in our life, Wilo is holding its Photography Contest for the fifth time in 2016 and this year, as an international contest, with FIAP Patronage. Wilo intends to explain its respect to the environment to wider masses through the power of the art of photography.

Subject of the Contest:

Wilo directs water in every part of the world through pump systems, which is the heart of the circulation process of water; however this is not enough for Wilo. In order to solidify its respect for water, Wilo aims at bringing to the agenda the decreasing water resources and clean water requirement through the photography contest.

Water, the sources of life, gradually decreases due to various factors such as climatic changes, drought, migration, and industrialization. Efficient use of water resources has gained importance more than ever to carry water to the future. Being aware that the art of photography is one of the best ways to most strikingly express the miracle and the value of water, Wilo positions its National Photography Contest as an awareness platform in this respect.
